PSA 10.54X ONLINE SAMPLING SYSTEM FOR MERCURY IN GASES AT HIGH PRESSURE

The PSA 10.54X is an ExD rated sampling system for hazardous explosive gases. The purpose of the unit is to deliver a representative gas sample to the online mercury analyser in a safe and effective manner. We describe a sampling system for one stream, however the system can be expanded to suit requirements although to date four streams has been the maximum filled in one cabinet; Multiple cabinets can be connected to one Analyser if required.

All of the components used in the sampling system are certified to explosive proof rating. As all installations vary in their spatial arrangement, the actual components are configured according to suit the required conditions.

The Sampling System is connected to the sample point using a filter and appropriate length of stainless steel braided teflon hose. A high flow primary bypass is used to ensure that a representative sample is obtained and prevent losses of mercury on upstream sampling components. The depressurized sample is then passed to the PSA 10.670 Online Mercury Analyser to be analysed.

Each channel is connected directly to the analyser stream selector within.

The main advantages of this sampling system are:

Inclusion of Primary and Secondary Bypass to ensure representative sample by continuous flushing

These modules can utilise optional modules such as Primary Pressure Reduction, Primary Bypass Control or use Automatic Carrier Gas Control to configure a bespoke system.

Heated Regulator to avoid condensation

Sample components selected to ensure low carrier over of mercury.

The following list gives an indication of options available but is not limiting, for example other versions have been produced to meet specific requirements.
